SHPE de SMCC
South Mountain has an active and growing student chapter of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. The club is open to all math, science or engineering students. The club's main function is to act a clearinghouse of information for faculty and students, such as:
- Scholarships and Internships
- SHPE conferences
- Class scheduling
- CSEMS information
- Extracurricular activities
Dues and Benefits
Annual dues are $10, of which $5 go to the national SHPE organization. In return, students receive a pad of engineering paper (worth $5 alone, and mandatory for ECE classes); food and drink at meetings; SHPE membership certificate; and the ability to attend SHPE conferences.
