Although physics encompasses a wide variety of phenomena, its fundamental branches are focused on classical mechanics, electromagnetism, relativity, thermodynamics, and quantum mechanics.

South Mountain Community College’s physics curriculum begins with the basics of general physics, including motion, energy and properties of matter, and expands into exploration of Newton’s laws, electricity and electromagnetism, and magnetic fields. Explore how the universe behaves and take a closer look at a field of study that has fascinated humanity since its origin.
